Chanticleer Log Cabin

A private, restored turn-of-the-century log cabin on 26 acres on Lake Travis, with a screened porch and fireplace. Queen bed with duvet, line-dried linens, robes, central air and heat. Extra-large clawfoot tub (no shower) from Mallonee’s grandmother’s farmhouse. Kitchenette is stocked with keurig coffee maker and coffee, microwave, small fridge, dishes/utensils, toaster. Outside gas grill and 2nd fridge. Hammock and two porches and lakeside picnic area underneath the old oak tree.

No other guests are on the property. Well, except for miniature donkeys Jacques and LuLu Belle and their feathered friends (the hens, no roosters) awaiting your arrival. We provide carrots for donkey treats.

Amenities:

  • Homemade granola, milk/juice/cereals, homemade chocolate chip cookies and a snack basket
  • Separate screened porch with stone fireplace and Adirondacks/pillows/blankets/marshmallows/bistro dining table. Enclosed with plastic panels during winter months. **We provide a firelog for each night. You are welcome to bring firewood, but the fireplace only accommodates smaller logs.**
  • Central Air/Heat and ceiling fans and screened windows for cool evenings
  • Queen bed with duvet, line-dried all-cotton linens, robes
  • Flatscreen TV/DVD/CD player/movies and CDs/games/books/magazines (no cable, local channels only)
  • Fully-stocked kitchenette: keurig coffeemaker/coffee, microwave, small fridge, toaster, dishes/utensils/tea/sugar/cream
  • Outside gas grill. Outside full fridge.
  • Bathroom features extra-large clawfoot tub, toiletries
  • Picnic table and chaises beneath huge oak tree on the shoreline
  • Resident miniature donkeys Jacques and LuLu Belle (in a fenced pasture near the cabin)
  • Happy hens
  • Hummingbirds/songbirds/road runners/butterflies/owls, wildlife out your front door

Rates:

$195 per night (includes homemade granola, cereals, milk and juice, snack basket, homemade chocolate chip cookies) plus 11% tax

A one-night stay may be possible during the week, give us a call!

A thank you to our active military: 10% discount for 2 or more nights. You must ask for the discount at time of booking, and it cannot be combined with gift certificates or cash discounts.

POLICIES

  • Room is priced per night, double occupancy
  • A 6% state hotel tax and a 5% county hotel tax must be added to the above rates
  • NO CHILDREN OR PETS (not that we don’t love them both! No exceptions.)
  • A two-night minimum is required on weekends
  • Smoking is permitted outside only
  • Check-in is 3 p.m. or anytime later – Check out is 11 a.m
  • We accept cash, Mastercard,VISA, Amex, Discover

Cancellation policy:  A deposit amount of the first night’s stay is required to reserve a room. This is refundable up to a week before arrival, less a $25.00 cancellation fee. The balance will be refunded by check or credit to your bank card. Cancellations made within 7 days of arrival are non-refundable; the first night’s stay is forfeited.

Holiday weekends and Spring Break week require notice of cancellation at least 14 days prior to arrival for refund of deposit.

Damages: We appreciate your efforts to conserve resources and to preserve our furnishings and surroundings. Please understand that a charge can occur for any damages that require replacement or repair (including linens, fabrics or furnishings, outdoor furnishings, etc.).
