Villa Celeste

Villa Celeste takes your breath away. Its inspiration came from weeks in the Italian countryside south of Florence, in and around Pienza.

As you approach, the old dry-stack rock wall surrounds an aged oak tree with cushioned chaises, your slice of heaven. A large swimming pool is steps from your porch, with more chaise chairs poolside. Stepping inside the French doors, you can’t take your eyes off of the king bed drenched in white linens, a few feet from the fireplace with granite hearth. To the right is a plush love seat you will want all to yourself! The smell of lavender and the buzz of hummingbirds will awaken your senses in the morning; the crisp, line-dried sheets will keep you there.

All walls and ceilings are cloaked in stained wood, and the floors are Saltillo tile. The kitchenette is stocked with dishes, glasses, flatware, utensils, blender and small crock-pot. Sink, coffeemaker, snacks and coffees/teas are on the granite-topped counter. Prepare your bounty with the microwave or the deluxe toaster oven. Or, go out your back door to the outdoor kitchen: a tiled counter with sink, a full-sized refrigerator, and a stainless gas grill with a side-burner, perfect for bruschetta.

The bathroom has a tiled shower, tiled countertop, towels and robes to snuggle in, bath gel and soaps.

For your nap-time: flatscreen TV and DVD player, a selection of DVDs, a bowl of popcorn, books and games, and a CD player with our favorite Italian music.

After a day by the pool or under the oak tree, don’t miss the sunset and the moonrise from the lookout deck above you. Toast today and tomorrow with a flute of prosecco before you retire for the evening. Buona notte.

Each villa is a separate house

There will be on-going work on the grounds, we have many plans! The property has a full-size greenhouse, an herb garden-to-be, a pond to be transformed, and barns. I see chickens on the horizon...

There are no permanent residents; we do visit the property each day.
